March Favorites

Writing about my monthly top picks is my favorite! I look back at the best moments of the month, what made me feel beautiful, happy and I share all these with you hoping that you will find something new to try. March was a great month with lots of new launches, Spring collections and colourful makeup. It’s the time of the year that I change my beauty routine, I add more cream products to my makeup, pastel colours to my nails and everything that’s labeled with the words glow, dewy or fresh ends up to my shopping cart.

My makeup becomes lighter during Spring – I avoid a heavy, full coverage base by using concealer where I need it the most and by setting with powder only my T-zone. My favorite concealer this month is the Omorovicza Mineral Touch in Beige. It has a velvety, light texture, it’s full coverage and it blends beautifully. I use it under my eyes, on spots and mostly on the centre of my face where I have hyperpigmentation. Then I blend it with my fingers or a sponge and it looks very natural. It comes only in two shade though.

As I have combination skin I have to set every base product that I use with a powder and the Laura Mercier Translucent Powder became my top choice during March. It’s a cult makeup product and I totally understand why – it’s super fine, it doesn’t make my face look cakey and it lasts all day.

I love a healthy, glowy makeup look and I finally had the chance to try the most hyped highlighter, the Glossier Haloscope in Moonstone. It’s a cream highlighter that gives you a natural, glow from within look. It has a very light texture and I prefer applying it with my fingers on the high points of my face. I love this effortless base, paired with some mascara, a cream blush and a gloss. I have to spend more time on my brows though as I have lots of sparse areas so I start with a brow powder then a pencil and I set them with a brow mascara. Korres launched new brow products this season and I really liked the Tinted Brow Mascara in Medium as it has a very practical brush and a light shade that works like highlights for my brows. It’s not as strong as the Benefit one that I love, so I use it when I want my brows to look natural – It’s a good drugstore choice.

As my makeup and my wardrobe is very minimal and neutral I add pop of colours with my accessories and my nail polishes. Mint green is one of my favorite Spring colours and I loved the Essie Bon Boyage nail polish. It has a creamy, pastel shade that looks great with white outfits and cute sundresses.

My perfume is also something that changes during Spring and I rediscovered an old favorite of mine, the Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea salt. It’s such a fresh, neutral perfume that reminds me of sunny days and I wear every-single-day.

An new skincare discovery that I absolutely adore is the Avène Tolérance Extreme Cleansing Lotion. I became a huge double cleansing fan, this method leaves my face 100% makeup free and my skin texture improved a lot. Oil based cleansers don’t suit my skin type so this gentle, creamy lotion became my go-to product. I apply it on dry skin, massage it to break the makeup and you can remove it with a cleansing cloth but I prefer a gel cleanser as my next step. It leaves my skin very smooth, clean and glowy and I will definitely repurchase it.

From makeup to skincare, that’s all I loved this March and I can’t wait to discover new ones this month. Please let my know, which product changed your beauty routine?

Happy April everyone!

Love Lou!
